About Me

I’m Amanda and this is my blog.  If you’d like to read all about what I’m doing with this blog and my mission behind it, check out this other About page. But this page is just about me, so you can get to know me a little better.

On paper: I am a college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Managerial Marketing, and spent the last 2+ years at a local telemarketing company.  Up until now I’ve had a well-exectued plan for life to do well in school, get a degree, land a stable full time job and so move forward in life.   I currently live with my boyfriend and my beautiful dog Lola in a small but cozy apartment near my Alma Mater–Kent State University.

In person: I am a crafter, a gardener, and a cook.  I’m a homemaker, organizer, and super multitasker.  I’m nerdy, goofy, and silly (I was a band geek through and through).  I’m smart–but not always sensible.  I’m personable and helpful and fun-loving, and striving every day to make things less stressful for myself (like not crying over spilled milk).

I love knitting, playing video games, going for long walks, generally being outside, making smores, throwing snowballs, having hot cocoa, playing on the floor with Lola, going to the Amish country with my grandmother, baking and eating Christmas cookies, relaxing with a cup of tea and a good book, and sleeping in on the weekends.

A bit deeper: I’m a young spirit with a fascination for old world values.  I believe in using what we have to make do, making what I can with my own two hands, taking the time to enjoy breakfast at a real table with those who matter to me, and keeping family close.

I’m still trying to find myself, and think I am closer now than I was a year ago, but I also understand that life is a continual exploration of self and so I may never really settle in one place, but journey into different stages as time goes on.

I’m a caring soul who wrestles with some the choices I’ve made, but I know I am meant for great things in this world–even if that is just making a difference in one person’s life.  To me that is a great feat indeed.
